The Orting Police Department is looking for energetic, motivated individuals who are looking to work for an inclusive & modern Police Department that emphasizes community, teamwork, leadership, and longevity via a reasonably paced and manageable workload.
The Orting Police Department is a full-service department serving a community of 9,000 residents located in beautiful Pierce County, Washington State just west of Mt. Rainier. We offer competitive pay, generous benefit packages, union protection, take-home vehicles, and top of the line equipment.
HOW DO I APPLY?
We are currently looking to hire both entry level, and experienced Officers. The application process is different depending on prior experience:
- Entry Level applicant - An applicant who has no prior police experience
If you are looking to apply and do NOT have any prior law enforcement experience, start the application process by registering and testing with PublicSafetyTesting.com and select "Orting Police Department" as one of the agencies you wish to test for. Once you complete the testing process, PublicSafetyTesting.com will report test scores directly the City of Orting Civil Service Commission, and you will be notified when interviews begin. Entry level interviews can occur up to 4 times per year depending on staffing needs. - Lateral Officer applicant - An experienced applicant who has already obtained a peace officer certification
If you have prior experience as a full-time Officer and are currently certified in the state of Washington or another state, you may qualify as a lateral applicant. The lateral application process is continuous and may be started by contacting the City of Orting Human Resources Department.
