Maps and Data
The community crime map is a free service that plots criminal activity reported to the police department on a geographical map.
The website allows the user to choose the neighborhood area and type of police events to display. It also allows users to view police events in list or table formats making it a valuable resource for research projects.
Police Department Annual Reports
Each year, the Police Department produces an annual report that summarizes department operations as a whole. The annual report includes topics such as; staffing levels, calls for service, crime statistics, new services, and other administrative information. At year end, information and statistics are assembled for the report, and the report is generally published prior to spring. Links to previously published annual reports are located at the bottom of this page.
Neighborhood Watch Program
In an effort to continue a safe environment for its citizens, the Orting Police Department will be assisting residents with the implementation of a neighborhood watch program.
What is a neighborhood watch?
Since its beginnings, Neighborhood Watch has grown from an “extra eyes and ears” approach to crime prevention to a much more proactive, community-oriented endeavor providing a unique infrastructure that brings together local officials, law enforcement, and citizens for the protection of their communities.
If you are interested in participating or learning more about starting a neighborhood watch group, please contact the Orting Police Department at neighborhoodwatch@cityoforting.org and an officer will contact you with more information to answer any of your questions and assist you in the process.
