Code Enforcement
The Code Enforcement Officer enforces provisions of the Orting Municipal Code that promote health, safety, and the appearance of existing buildings and neighborhoods.
The Code Enforcement Officer has the authority to contact property owners who are in violation of City code, inform them of the nature of the violations, and advise what must be done to correct the violations. Investigations of potential violations occur after receipt of a publicly generated complaint, report of a violation by governmental agencies, or after a potential violation is observed by code enforcement officer or other city staff members. The officer is then required to provide written documents that detail the violations and ways for the responsible party to address them. the code enforcement officer will always seek voluntary compliance from a property owner or responsible party before seeking enforcement action.
If you have an issue you would like addressed, please print and complete the Citizen Action Request Form and mail it to PO Box 489, Orting, WA or you may pick up a form at City Hall.
