Please note: The City accepts applications for open positions only. To apply for a position you must complete a City of Orting application and submit any required supplemental materials. If you are submitting an application for an open position it is important that you:

• Review the job announcement and description carefully. Incomplete application materials may disqualify you.
• Applications must be received by the closing date and time posted on the job opportunity page to be considered.
• Applications forms must be initialed, signed and dated.
• If you apply for more than one job opening, a separate application is required for each position.
• Each application requires an original signature.
• Applications and required materials may be sent via mail, dropped by City Hall or sent as an attachment via email.

 The City of Orting is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. Some positions require pre-employment drug testing, passing a medical exam and/or a police background check. Job related reference checks will be conducted prior to employment being offered.

Veterans Preference: The City of Orting provides qualifying veterans and disabled veterans with preference in employment in accordance with state law. Any candidate wishing to have their qualifying veteran’s preference applied to the process must submit a qualifying document (DD Form 214 or 215) at the time of application, providing proof of eligibility that includes discharge status. Disabled veterans must also submit a copy of their Veteran’s disability preference letter from the US Department of Veterans Affairs at the time of application, unless the information is included in the DD Form 214 or 215.

If You are Not Selected as a Finalist The City of Orting does not send formal notification to applicants who are not selected for an interview or test. Another application must be submitted for each new opening that becomes available.
