The Architectural Design Review (ADR) theme for the City of Orting is “Turn of the Century; Western or Victorian”. We believe that a well-maintained theme makes Orting a destination point for visitors to our city.

The City of Orting requires adherence to the ADR code for any new construction and/or exterior remodeling of any commercial or multi-family building. The code also applies to signage for the exterior of a building, monument signs and sandwich board signs, as well as changes to the exterior color of a commercial or multi-family building.

Applications for ADR design, signage, exterior paint and temporary signs are available on this website page and at City Hall (104 Bridge St S. Orting, WA 98360). The cost of an ADR will be from $50.00 (sign review) up to $250.00 (building design).

Please be advised that a permit from the building department is required for all new construction, remodeling and the installation of exterior signage.

ADR applications are reviewed and approved by the Planning Commission, which meets the first Monday of every month, 7:00pm in the Orting City Hall - 104 Bridge St S. Orting, WA 98360.
