Mental Health
An emotional or mental health crisis can leave you feeling helpless, hopeless and alone.
The Orting Police Department supports recent efforts by the Washington State legislature to increase the quality and availability of mental health services available to the public.
In cooperation with the Pierce County Crisis Line, we want you to know that there is help, there is hope. You are not alone.

Anyone can call the Crisis Line – for themselves, a family member or friend. First responders, such as EMS staff and law enforcement officers, are also encouraged to call the crisis line if they encounter an individual in crisis during the course of their work.

Pierce County Alliance Recovery Navigator Program
PCA’s Recovery Navigator Program is completely voluntary and designed to provide assistance for anyone dealing with adverse life issues that may arise from substance abuse and/or mental health problems. It offers intensive personal support by licensed peers to access the foundational pillars of recovery for any behavioral health issues.
Resources provided include connection to health and wellness necessities (food, hygiene, housing support, etc.), access to treatment for both mental health and substance use (including medication-assisted treatment ), employment assistance, and any other services as needed.
The program strives to contact individuals within 45 minutes of inquiry or referral, recognizing that these are urgent requests for help.
Recovery Navigator team members will work with anyone seeking assistance regardless of where they may physically or emotionally and will extend a helping hand to encourage, assist and walk alongside participants as they pursue their own, personal path to stability and recovery.
PCA also offers a justice-involved Recovery Navigator track to aid those persons referred from law enforcement, the courts, or prosecutors. This specialized program uses peer support to help clients understand and deal with any justice-related requirements.
The Recovery Navigator Program is completely free and does not require enrollment in a treatment program or require random drug testing.
