Subject: High Winds and Rain Forecast for Tuesday-Wednesday
The National Weather Service has issued a weather advisory for the Orting Valley from Tuesday, November 19, through Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
Key Weather Updates:
- Winds: Strong east to southeast wind gusts forecasted to reach 30-45 MPH or higher in the Orting Valley and could cause tree damage, power outages, roof damage, ect..
- Rain: Rainfall is expected during this period, with minor to little or no rain anticipated from November 21-24.
- Snow: Not expected to impact the Orting Valley. Snow is expected to remain on the eastern side of the Cascade Mountains with snow levels between 1,000-2,000 feet.
Resident Action Steps:
- Secure Loose Items: Please secure or bring indoors any loose objects, such as patio furniture, garbage bins, and decorations, to prevent damage or hazards.
- Stay Informed: Stay tuned to local media outlets and weather updates as the storm system develops.
- Help Prevent Local Flooding: Clear your storm drains of leaves which can cause problems and accumulate during events like this.
