Project Descriptions: The selected firm (or firms) will perform the following tasks, and may perform other facilities planning and design services if the need arises:

– Police Station: Design, obtain permits, prepare bid documents, and administer the construction contract for an approximately 4,500 square foot building plus parking/landscaping. In addition, the City will need advice and planning for additional facilities and/or renovations to meet current and future needs.

Specific Qualifications Required: In addition to technical skills in facilities planning, design, and construction management, the successful firm must have excellent communications skills, the ability to elicit community input, facilitate diverse interest groups, understand community concerns and issues, and develop recommendations that have broad public support. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL SHOW EXAMPLES OF LOWER COST PROJECTS FOR SMALL CITIES.

Firms will be considered for selection based upon the following criteria: 1) Key Personnel, including sub consultants, 2) Relevant Experience, 3) History of Cost-Effective and Innovative Design, and 4) References.

Following an evaluation of submittals, the City of Orting may select the most qualified firm (or firms) based solely on the written Statements of Qualifications, or request to meet with short-listed firms to discuss the work in more detail prior to making our decision. Following selection of the most qualified firm (or firms), the City will negotiate a professional services agreement and fee structure.

The City reserves the right to reject all submissions and waive any irregularities and informalities in the information provided.
