The Orting Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of lateral police officer. The individual must have worked in the law enforcement field within the last five year period and as an independent officer for at least six months during that time. A complete job description of the duties entailed with this position and an application may be found within this website. The wage range is $24.73 – $30.41 per hour. Minimum Requirements are: 1) Be a citizen of the United States; 2) Possess a valid driver’s license; 3) Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent; 4) Be in good health; 5) Possess good moral character; 6) Pass an in-depth background check. 7) Possess a valid driver’s license with no pending risk of loss; 8 ) Meet all requirements of physical condition, behavioral characteristics assessment and any other requirements specified in the examination process; 9) Ability to obtain certification as Washington State Peace officer at time of hire. This position announcement will expire no-later-than 19 March 2013, however this process may close at any time prior to this date without additional notice.
