Code Enforcement

The Code Enforcement Officer enforces provisions of the Orting Municipal Code that promote the health, safety, and appearance of existing buildings and neighborhoods. 

If you have an issue you would like him to address please print
the 
Citizen Action Request Form and return it to City Hall (PO Box 489. Orting, WA).  You may also stop by City Hall and fill out the form in person.

Typical complaints handled by Code Enforcement include:

  • Nuisances affecting public health.
  • Unpermitted and prohibited signs.
  • Unlicensed businesses.
  • Unpermitted land uses.
  • Abandoned vehicles.
  • Abandoned refrigerators and appliances.
  • Accumulations of trash, junk and discarded waste material on residential and commercial properties.
  • Dilapidated buildings, structures, and properties.
  • Uncontrolled vegetation.
  • Illegal businesses operating in residences.
  • Illegal occupancy of a recreational vehicle.

The Enforcement Officer is available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
